Dr. Fishman headed a team of surgeons who performed a complex combined middle cranial fossa and retrolabyrinthine approach for the resection of a neurofibroma in a 14 year old patient with progressive facial palsy. The surgery was successful in removing the tumor and regaining facial nerve function that had been declining due to compression. During this volunteer mission, Dr. Fishman provided a grand rounds lecture to the departments of Pediatric Otolaryngology and Neurosurgery on the Management of NF2.
