In the fall of 2005, Dr. Fishman went on a year long medical mission to South India, where he developed a Transtemporal Cranial Base Surgery Program at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in the city of Cochin, Kerala. He was appointed as Consultant in the disciplines of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery and Skull Base Neurosurgery. During that time, he also worked as a surgical consultant for one of the major cochlear implant companies, training doctors in surgical implantation techniques.
